PURPOSE
-------
The Vista MIDI Picker allows the default MIDI output device to be
changed within Microsoft Windows Vista. This application exists
because this cannot be accomplished within Vista due to Microsoft
removing certain MIDI-related features from the operating system.

The Vista MIDI Picker is to be used at your own risk. Once the
default device has been changed, you will need to restart any
running MIDI applications for them to pick-up the change.

UPGRADING
---------
To upgrade your current installation of VMP to a newer version,
simply delete the VMP directory and extract the new version's
archive to a location of your choice.

REMOVING
--------
To remove VMP from your system, just quit the application and
delete the VMP directory. VMP does not store any data in the
Windows registry or anywhere else on your system.

TROUBLE-SHOOTING
----------------
If you get an error when you start Vista MIDI Picker, you will
need to download the Microsoft .NET runtimes package (22MB).
Please beware of wordwrap in the URL:

  64-BIT - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b44a0000-acf8-4fa1-affb-40e78d788b00&DisplayLang=en

In the future, a significant portion of applications written
for Windows will use the .NET runtimes, so it is a good idea
to download it now to save hassle later.
